High demands on processing and I/O capacity: Ethernet remains the highest-bandwidth, lowest cost solution for transporting native IP traffic and together, IP and Ethernet are the building blocks of the most efficient Triple Play Networks. ATCA is ideally suited to provide the high capacity for both processing and I/O for today’s and future needs.

SIP PerformanceWithin the ATCA specification, there is a cap of 200 watts of power consumed per slot, enabling high performance processors to be adequately cooled during high compute density processing. Reduces delay in call setup times in a SIP environment.
StorageATCA supports either base or extended fabric interfaces, ideal for CSCF and HSS elements.
Control and User Data SeparationWith its flexible GbE fabric interface architecture, ATCA can connect up to four separate networks in one IMS setup.
Processor, Switch and Carrier Blades
TEMs / NEPs may choose from a complete Kontron portfolio of AdvancedTCA GbE and 10GbE processor, switch and carrier blades to build AdvancedTCA-based carrier grade systems. Each platform element provides system High Availability (HA) and high levels of modularity and configurability. This permits an ease of integration of multiple functions and new features, all on the same common platform.
