The new AMD Embedded G-Series platform integrates energy-efficient processor cores and an advanced DirectX® 11-capable graphics processing unit into a new class of embedded processor: the Advanced Processing Unit (APU). AMD's "Fusion" technology enables OEMs to increase the performance, efficiency and mobility of their small-formfactor applications to attain a new level of user experience. Kontron simplifies and accelerates the integration of Fusion technology by supporting it on the most popular form factors for graphics-intensive SFF applications that come with dedicated, market-oriented feature sets. Additionally, the new boards also are supported by Kontron Embedded Application Programming Interface (Kontron EAPI), the platform-independent middleware that provides unified access to hardware functionalities and onboard I/Os. OEMs will benefit from a reduced R&D overhead, lower design risks and simplified migration.
