Rolf Schwirz

Chairman of the Management Board

Since January 2013 Rolf Schwirz is the Chairman of the Management Board.

Rolf Schwirz can look back on many years of extensive experience in the IT industry. Prior to his position at Kontron, he was CEO of Fujitsu Technology Solutions, held the position of Head of Mature Markets EMEA at SAP, and spent 12 years at Oracle in a variety of international management roles including those of Senior Vice President Western Continental Europe, Managing Director Nordic-Germany, and Vice President Sales Germany. He knows the customer needs both in large and mid-size businesses.

Rolf Schwirz began his career in 1983 as systems consultant, holding various management positions at Siemens Nixdorf and Siemens AG. He holds a Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Thomas Sparrvik

Vice Chairman

Thomas Sparrvik is the Vice Chairman of Kontron AG, a member of Kontron’s Managing Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer of Kontron America and Asia-Pacific. Mr. Sparrvik is also strategically and functionally responsible for Sales and Marketing for Kontron worldwide. He has global expertise in: Mergers and Acquisitions, P&L, operations, supply chain, sales and marketing, strategic planning and turnarounds. During Mr. Sparrvik’s 10+ years of Executive leadership at Kontron, he has helped drive the company’s organic growth as well as lead several of Kontron’s strategic acquisitions

Mr. Sparrvik holds an MBA from the Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, Coventry, England; an MSC in Electrical Engineering from Lund University, Sweden; and a BA in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications from Pauli College, Malmoe, Sweden. Mr. Sparrvik is a certified engineer by FEANI, Brussels. He is also a Reserve Officer and Captain in the Swedish Army.

Dr. Jürgen Kaiser-Gerwens

Chief Financial Officer

Dr. Kaiser Gerwens is as Chief Financial Officer responsible for Finance, Controlling, Legal, Internal audit and M & A.

Dr. Jürgen Kaiser-Gerwens studied business administration, both in Muenster, Germany, and in St. Gallen, Switzerland, where he graduated in 1990.

Until 2002 he worked at Unilever in various management positions in the financial sector where he was responsible for the restructuring and reorganization of large parts of the European business of Unilever. Lastly, Dr. Kaiser Gerwens was responsible for the financial sector "Spreads and Cooking Category Europe", based in Rotterdam.

In 2002 he became Managing Director of Dynamit Nobel GmbH, where he was responsible, among other things, for finance, purchasing, IT and personnel.

Dr. Kaiser Gerwens took over, in 2006, the position of Chief Financial Officer for Schott Solar GmbH. After the reorganization of the company as a stock holder corporation, he was a member of the Board of Directors, responsible for finance, controlling, risk management, investor relations, legal, IT and Projects/Power generation. Since February 2011, Dr. Kaiser Gerwens is the CFO of Kontron AG responsible for Finance, Controlling, IT, legal, internal audit, M & A and investor relations.

Andreas Plikat

Chief Operating Officer

Andreas Plikat is as Chief Operating Officer responsible for IT and Quality.

After completing his studies in physics, Andreas Plikat was employed for over ten years at Procter & Gamble, a leading U.S. consumer goods group, in the "Product Supply Organization". Following executive functions at manufacturing sites in England and Germany, he served as Project Manager Europe in the global design of the "Ultimate Supply Systems" of the P&G Group.

Subsequently, in the P&G European headquarters in Geneva, Andreas Plikat took over the "Product Supply & Initiative Planning" of a business unit for the EMEA region. In 2002 Andreas Plikat became Head of Supply Chain Management at Rohde & Schwarz, a global electronics company based in Munich. From 2004 he served as general manager for procurement. His area of responsibilities included, among other things, the design of the supply chain of two new production sites in Asia Pacific and the establishment of a procurement office in Singapore. In addition, he was a member of the board of directors of DVS GmbH (Hannover) and of R & S Asia Ltd (Singapore).
